Train With Me

Methods

I struggle with calling myself a “dog trainer” because dogs are really good at being dogs! It’s us who need to learn their language to understand what they are telling us, how they are feeling, and teach them skills so we can live more cohesively together.

I use science-based methods/positive reinforcement/force free/ whatever you prefer to call it. The dog’s happiness and comfort is my priority. I do not use fear, intimidation, or pain. I will never use a shock collar, prong collar, or choke chain.

Training is a lifestyle as dogs are always learning. Training with the dog’s comfort in mind is not permissive, it doesn’t mean the dog can do whatever they want. We prevent, manage, and reinforce. My goal to have your dog listen to you because they want to, as you have a relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and fun.

I can help you with…

  • Puppy training

  • Leash walking skills

  • Fearfulness

  • Baby/Dog issues or preparing your dog for baby

  • Basic manners and obedience

  • Socialization

  • Impulse control

  • Separation Anxiety

  • Reactivity

    ….. and more!

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation so you can get to know me a bit and we can ensure I am a good fit for you and your dog.

Initial Consultation

$150

This first session is about an hour and a half long. We discuss your dog and the issues you are having. I’ll talk a bit about dog behaviour and what our plan will be, then we’ll get started working on some skills. After your session you will receive a summary of what we discussed and what your homework is.

For travel over 60 km there will be an additional fee of $0.60 per km.

Follow-up Sessions

$100

Followup sessions are about an hour in length. We’ll learn new skills and build on those that are established. Maybe we’ll go for a walk or meet somewhere new to put skills into practice in real life situations. Again, you’ll receive a recap.

In between sessions I am available to help through text/email/phone.

“With me, no harm will come and reinforcement will flow. Always!”
